Let’s Hope For The Best

It was a historic moment.  The speeches were eloquent–both the concession and acceptance speeches.  I have to admit, even though I’m still skeptical and worried about the future of our country, it made me proud that at least we may be becoming more colorblind as a nation.  Let’s hope we can overcome gender bias, and any other prejudice that prevents people from reaching their goals.  I only hope I was wrong about Obama’s intentions.  I know I’m not used to being wrong (right Big Daddy?–haha), but in this instance, I hope to God I’m wrong.  I’ll get over it.

Barack Obama has a lot to prove.  He made a lot of promises.  He’s got a lot of problems to clean up.  The world is watching.  Please make this work.

And Now We Wait…

OMG.  I had a brain fart bigger than the Grand Canyon today.  I walked the mile or so to our Middle School to vote because my tire is still flat and it was a beautiful day.  The wait in line was only like 45 minutes, which I thought wasn’t too bad for a big election like this.  Since I’ve lived in this area my entire married life, there were plenty of familiar faces in line, and of course, everyone pretty much chats with the other people in line around them, even if you don’t know them.  There were two young guys right in front of me, around 18 or so, obviously voting in their first big presidential election.  A lot of the older folks around us were telling them how great it was that they were taking the time to vote.  They were taking the handouts and looking them over.  It was so cute.

Oh, but back to the brain fart.  First of all, it’s no secret that I’m scared to death of Barack Obama winning the election.  But there’s nothing I can do about it.  I truly think this could be the beginning of the end.  As all great empires decline and fall, I believe we’re seeing the first stage of the decline of our nation, democracy, and all the ideals of our Founding Fathers.  Obama has pretty much said that the Constitution can be changed.  He breaks bread with terrorists.  Rogue leaders throughout the world are salivating at the idea of an Obama presidency.  So yeah, I wasn’t about to cast my vote for this emperor so I can watch him fiddle while we burn.

I got to the touch screen.  I selected all my candidates for the various positions.  I was real happy that I had read up on all the candidates and made the best choices.  I got to the review screen so I could double check my choices.  HOLY CRAP!  Obama/Biden was listed as my choice for pres/vice pres!  All the other choices were right.  Thank God I looked before I hit the Enter Your Vote button.  If I had sent that ballot in the way it was and realized it too late, I seriously would have checked myself into the nearest old age home.

In His Own Words: Obama for Reparations and Redistribution of Wealth

Believe it or not, there are some people that still think Barack Obama’s “changes” are going to be good changes for the American people.  Here is the 2001 radio interview (before he was campaigning for Prez) that should give you a better look into his true intentions (just in case his racist, terrorist, and Anti-American associates haven’t given you a clue yet).  Of course, you will never hear this on CBS, ABC, or NBC news.  They’d rather dis Sarah Palin’s hair or criticize her for not having enough money to buy her own suits.

Of course, there are some people that would embrace Socialism–at least for a while.  These are the people that don’t mind being taken care of all their lives, people that have no hopes and dreams for the future and are happy to just subsist and have their most basic needs provided without having to actually work much.  Also, the ones in charge of doling out the goodies (and of course, able to take all they want from the top of the pile) are seeing a big opportunity here, too.  But I don’t think the majority of us Americans want to live like that.  It didn’t work for the Soviets.  The Cubans are still trying to get the hell out of Cuba.  And we certainly don’t need it here!

On Joe The Plumber: And Mob Revenge

Poor Joe the Plumber.  As a concerned citizen seeking to become a more informed voter, he asked Barack Obama about his plan to redistribute income through raising taxes on successful businesspeople.  Now he’s being investigated, his life is being probed, and his personal business is being reported throughout media outlets.  All because he asked a question of the Anointed One, in a way the Anti Messiah didn’t approve.

One day, Joe was a plumber minding his business.  The next day, the liberals are trying to dig up any dirt they can find about him.  Kind of reminds me of a certain scene from “The Godfather.”  You know, the one where the so-called double-crosser finds the dead horse in his bed.  You just don’t cross certain people.  You may end up wearing cement shoes.  Or finding dead animals in your house.  Obama is surrounded by a lot of shady characters; perhaps some of their tactics are rubbing off.

Who knows?  Maybe I should be afraid.  I’m sure some of my posts could piss certain people off.  Maybe a lot of us bloggers should start worrying.  After all, one of the Dems big proposals is to silence all the “conservatives” on the radio airwaves through the ironically named “Fairness Doctrine,” even though these folks don’t reach nearly the numbers that the liberal mainstream media brainwash and misinform daily.

So fellow Republicans and hard-working conservatives, watch your back.  You may end up being vetted, audited, and maybe even silenced.  There are certain elements of society that you just don’t dare cross.

Do NOT Hand Our Country Over to Thugs

You may have noticed I’ve avoided any political musings lately.  It’s a mental health thing.  Sometimes I just have to stay away from things that upset me too much.

There are some things I just can’t understand.  One is why the mainstream media is so blatantly leftist in their views.  Freedom of speech and freedom of the press are usually the first thing to go in leftist regimes.

Another is the way the rich idiots in Hollywood like to spout out how our government doesn’t look out for the little guy.  Well, if they’re so truly concerned, why don’t they just shut up and hand over all their excessive incomes to bail out their rich banker buddies.  After all, it was their candidate and good buddy, Bill Clinton, that insisted that banks make loans available to people that would never be able to pay them back.  Yes, the American dream of home ownership should be accessible to everyone–everyone who is willing and able to work hard and spend wisely.

We may have unknowingly let thugs weaken our country and rob us blind.  But come November, please do not just totally give up and hand over the country to thugs that hate America and everything we used to stand for.  Who would you rather hand over the reins to:

John McCain:  A man who loves this country and who bravely fought and suffered abuse in the company of other brave Americans to defend our country.  A man who is not afraid to do the right thing even if it’s not the popular thing to do.  A man with enough character that even the most die-hard liberal has trouble finding fault with.

Barack Obama:  A man who is influenced, supported and adored by criminals and America bashers galore (think William Ayers–former Pentagon-bombing thug; the America-damning Rev. Jeremiah Wright; and garden variety hypocrite and moron Michael Moore).  These are NOT nice people.  Most of us Americans still are.

No one may be able to totally fix this mess we’re in.  But someone could make it a hell of a lot worse!

On Feminism, Ugliness, and Hypocrisy–I’m Heaving It Out Folks

I’ve been stewing about this for days.  I’ve avoided writing too much about this because I didn’t want to get too ugly or offensive.  But now, after hearing Governor Palin’s speech, I don’t feel the need to get so ugly.  This woman can handle the ugliness, the sexism, and the hypocrisy that the left-wing media and good-ole-boys want to dish out.

There are just a few things in this world that really rile me up.  One is irresponsibility.  People that make big mistakes and don’t want to take responsibility for the consequences is one of the main problems in our country right now.  People make bad decisions all the time; that is human nature.  But when they will not take responsibility for their actions, when they want innocent people to bail them out of the results of their bad decisions, this really pisses me off.  Banks get greedy and make bad loans.  They should know better.  But when the little scheme backfires and people can’t pay back the loans, well, let’s get Joe Taxpayer to bail them out of their little gamble.  When people take out loans they should know they can’t afford, or build on flood plains without springing for any flood insurance, why should the rest of us who make better decisions and use common sense be forced to pay for it?  We’ve already paid for our own insurance, and our own higher interest rates on OUR mortgages.  None of these people were going to share with us if the little gamble worked out for them.

Another thing that scalds me is sexism.  The Democrats have used this issue for years, claiming themselves to be the champion of womens rights.  Women should be allowed to work outside the home.  Their kids will be fine in daycare.  Mommy doesn’t have to be chained to the house and kids.  I guess it’s fine so long as that woman is plugging along at minimum wage waiting on tables, or teaching at preschool.  It’s ok if she wants to be a clerical gal.  But the minute a woman wants to step into a position of power, a position those big-shot men want for themselves, well, suddenly they start worrying about the poor babies at home without their mommy.  Nobody ever freaking worried about Al Gore’s 4 kids under Tipper’s care while he was Vice President.  Why the sudden concern for Governor Palin’s family?  What about Barack Obama’s two adorable little girls?  How will they survive while Daddy does all his Presidential duties?

I happened to walk past the TV today when that horrible show, “The View,” was on.  I never intentionally watch that show since it makes me retch.  They can’t possibly pay poor Elisabeth Hasselbeck nearly enough to sit there every day and put up with the bile spewing from those big-mouthed vapid witches.  Little Liberal Whoopie, normally so pro-woman, is just tsk-tsking away about how all these “little” kids are going to manage without their mommy.  You freaking liberal hypocrite!  First of all, one of the “little” kids is old enough to be in the military.  The second “little” kid is soon going to have her own little kid, and she and her boyfriend are actually taking responsibility for the little “mistake” they made.  Hmmm. responsibility.  It’s a word not often found in the vocabulary of these liberals, the party of missing daddies, aborted mistakes, and politicians who won’t sign their poor rejected child’s birth certificate.

There.  I said it.  Well, at least some of it.  Enough to feel better for now.  Unfortunately, I’m sure the hypocrites of the world will get me fired up again.

It Takes A Village To Bash A Kid

I guess you’d have to be living on Mars not to hear the garbage being tossed about by the political spin doctors.  In a sick attempt to try to discredit McCain’s choice for VP, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, the Democrats have sunk to an all-time low.  They’re accusing her 16-year old daughter of being the “real” mother of Palin’s infant child, who was born with Down syndrome.

Are there no morals in politics at all?  Since when is it OK to attack an innocent child to accomplish one’s nefarious goals?  Kids should be off-limits to any attack; I don’t care who their parents are.  I wouldn’t bad mouth my worst enemy’s children.  Kids can’t help who their parents are, and their young fragile egos are still developing.  They are still trying to learn about the world and find their place in it.  Imagine how you would feel if your child’s name was dragged through the mud for any reason.  Imagine that what they were saying wasn’t even true.  This is the ultimate despicable act of desperation and I can’t believe anyone would stoop so low.

First of all, what if the outlandish story turned out to be true?  The worst transgression here is that a mother was protecting her daughter from nasty public scrutiny.  IF there was any truth to this at all, it really would have nothing to do with Governor Palin’s ability to do her job, just as the Democrats claim that John Edward’s cheating on his gravely ill wife (and denying his love child) does not make him less effective on the job.  It would merely be a mother protecting her child, which is something a lot of us mothers have a tendency to do.

Secondly, not one of these accusers has produced an iota of evidence that this ludicrous story is TRUE!!  If they had evidence, they would have shared it.  Instead, they dig up some meager circumstantial “evidence”, saying that Governor Palin didn’t look pregnant.  Well, I’m betting they wear heavier clothing in Alaska so maybe it wasn’t as obvious as if she was wearing a tank top or something.  And it’s not so uncommon to hear about a woman who doesn’t even realize she’s pregnant herself until she delivers the baby.

And how stupid are these people?  Don’t they know how hard it would be for anyone in politics to pull off a scam like this?  It would have been “discovered” long before now.  And the fact that the baby has Down Syndrome makes it so much more unlikely that he was born to a young girl, since the cause of Down Syndrome is a genetic mutation most often found in the eggs of women past the age of 35.  But nobody ever said these people were smart.

On Politicians: They DO NOT CARE About You

The most ridiculous reason I hear for why people are voting for a particular candidate is this:  This politician CARES about us!  Or they care about the poor, the middle-class, the down-trodden, humanity in general, etc. ad nauseum.

Hear this people:  Your grandma may care about you.  Your daddy may care about you.  These politicians don’t give a flying FIG about you.  They court you only for your vote.  They love the power, the money, and the opportunities that YOUR VOTE can give them.  If they give the impression that they want to help you and the rest of humanity, you may be duped into supporting their lucrative career.

I’m not picking on one particular party.  For the most part, all the politicians are dirtbags.  Even if one goes into politics with the notion of helping people, he or she can’t survive or get anything done in such a corrupt environment.  You either play along, become corrupt yourself, or drop out.

Make your vote count and vote for the candidate who you think will do the best job of keeping our country strong, safe, and economically stable.  Throughout the years, a strong America has been a stabilizing force in the world.  We need to keep policies in force that will keep people working, and provide incentives to entrepreneurs willing to take risks to devise newer, cleaner and better ways to live and succeed in this world.  When our standard of living rises, so does everyone’s, for the most part.  But please don’t waste your vote on someone because you think they care.  Because, honest to God, they don’t.

I’m One of Obama’s “Bitter” Pennsylvanians

“…And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

This is the stereotype Senator Barack Obama has of small-town Midwestern Americans (including Pennsylvanians).  It’s funny how he can so freely stereotype some Americans (typical white-person when referring to his white grandmother’s prejudice) and the above comments, while other people get fired from their jobs for far less.

Obviously, Senator Obama is sorely out of touch with working-class America.  In Western Pennsylvania, so many of the working people here are children and grandchildren of immigrants.  My grandparents got off the boat from Italy at Ellis Island and worked hard to make a life here.  We are not anti-immigrant.  What we are, is, anti-freeload.  Our ancestors struggled to make ends meet, followed the rules to become citizens, and learned the customs and language and assimilated into the American dream.  We expect the same of immigrants today.  We don’t want to support a bunch of people that come into the country illegally, expect free medical care and education in return for nothing, and show disdain for their adopted country by not even learning the language.  Every American should be insulted by that.

Religion?  Since when is it bad to cling to religion during hard times?  Most religions bring comfort to people, keep society civil, and urge cohesiveness.  That is unless you subscribe to the divisive theology of Obama’s pastor, Reverend Wright, who seems to believe that America is divided into victimized black America and evil exploiting white America.  Never mind that Wright and Obama both grew up with many advantages that a lot of white working-class “evil-doers” only dream about.

And guns.  My guys don’t hunt, but they have their guns.  They like to target shoot, recreationally.  And, yes, we do want to be able to protect ourselves from any criminal out there that, even if guns somehow should be banned by the Democrats, would still illegally be able to obtain them.  We like to keep a more level playing field.  If it’s “bitter” to want to protect one’s family, I’ll choose to be bitter.

“Punished With A Baby?”

I used to be a Democrat.  That’s when I was young and idealistic, and I didn’t see how people work the system.  That was also before the Democratic party became the party of “victimization,” always trying to stir up discontent and envy instead of trying to reward responsibility and empowering people to better their own lives.  You see, it’s easier to win votes from people if you encourage them to be lazy and then promise to take care of them.  Senator Obama’s recent speech on how he wouldn’t want his daughters punished for a “mistake” with a baby is a prime example of how the Democrats think.  My guess is that they might just “sweep” that mistake out of existence, instead of taking responsibility for their actions.  It’s the Democrat way.
