1984 Revisited

Twenty-four years ago today I gave birth to my first baby.  I didn’t really know or care if it was going to be a boy or girl, but secretly I was kind of hoping for a boy.  I used to see little boys with their mommies and always thought how cute it was the way they interracted with each other.  There is something special about a mother-son bond.  I now know that for a fact.  I also used to say I wanted an eight-pounder with lots of hair.  All my wishes came true that day.

Even though he’s not home today, I’m thinking of Soldier Son, my first-born of three awesome sons.  Happy Birthday, baby.  Can’t wait until you’re safe at home.

Sorry, I just bumped you !
As a mother, I send you my best wishes. You should be very proud of your son.

I agree, there is definitely a special bond between moms and their sons. I don’t know what I’d do without mine, quirks and all!

Happy birthday to your Soldier boy. I hope he’s safe and well.
